Contest
Tune-Up! is a detailed critique and edit of your short story or
“first pages of a novel” entry. Submit the first ten pages (including any synopsis and/or
prologue—250 words per page maximum). Add $4.00 per 250-word page after ten pages, 20 page
maximum. Example: 13 page submission / 10 pages @ $25 + (3 x $4) = $37. |
|
Money Back Guarantee:
If I feel I cannot dramatically improve the odds of your story doing well in a contest suited for
its specific genre, I will return the manuscript with a full refund. If, after the tune-up, you
don’t feel I’ve dramatically improved your story, I’ll refund your payment in full. Find more

Complete Manuscript
Edit: Fee is dependent upon assessment of editing required on sample
submission. If I feel the manuscript will involve more time than is typical, charges will be
negotiated outside of this range. This service involves a complete and detailed
manuscript edit and critique, with a separate critique summary of ten to twenty
pages (depending on manuscript size and needs).
|
|
The
first three pages will be edited as an evaluation sample for a $15 deposit to be applied
toward the total fee. From the evaluation sample, if the writer or I decide that my
contribution to the work would be of little value, the writer will have no further obligation, and
the rest of the manuscript will not be edited. |
| |
After the initial evaluation, the agreed upon fee shall be submitted in thirds: the first
third to be paid before further work, the second third to be paid upon first half completion, and
the final third to be paid upon completion of the entire edit. |
| |
Electronic (emailed) submissions are welcome,
two-way postage and packaging must be included for hard copy (paper) submissions. |
